This blog on New Caledonia is for those of you who ever wondered what life on a tiny island in the South Pacific might be like. Tired of bracing winter winds, the stress of an inner city or simply dreaming of a life change? This is a blog about what happens when, in the words of Yogi Berra, "you come to a fork in the road, [and] take it".

La vie est belle !

"La vie est belle !" exclaims Pablo in New Caledonia - or so we think he would exclaim if only he could talk ... but all good things take time. Pablo has been focussing on learning to walk of late, and not without fruition. This week he took his first steps and reports being thrilled with the possibility of self-locomotion. Life could not be better! He is also pushing around his new car and screaming at the walls for getting in the way. He has not noticed the lack of effect his screaming seems to have on inanimate objects. But like I said, all good things take time.

Oh, Julie's life will change dramatically when Pablito is able to get around the house!

Tell Pablito that his future wife Ava is having the same issues...
